Welcome to Codorex! These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Codorex platform. By using Codorex, you agree to these Terms. Please read them carefully.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using Codorex, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree to these Terms, please don't use our service.

For users under 13: You must have permission from a parent or guardian to use Codorex. Parents and guardians, please review these Terms with your child.

2. What Codorex Provides

Codorex is an educational platform that helps young learners (ages 7+) learn to code by:

Providing an AI-powered code generation tool
Offering a safe environment to create and test coding projects
Enabling users to save and manage their projects
Supporting multiple programming concepts and languages

3. Your Account

3.1 Account Creation

To use Codorex, you need to create an account. You agree to:

Provide accurate and complete information
Keep your password secure and confidential
Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
Be responsible for all activities under your account

3.2 Account Eligibility

Users under 13 must have parental or guardian consent. Users under 18 must have parental or guardian supervision. We reserve the right to request proof of parental consent.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree to use Codorex responsibly and appropriately. You will NOT:

Use the service for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
Create, share, or promote harmful, offensive, or inappropriate content
Harass, bully, or threaten other users
Attempt to hack, disrupt, or compromise the platform's security
Use automated tools (bots) to access the service without permission
Share your account credentials with others
Impersonate another person or entity
Violate any applicable laws or regulations

Violation of these terms may result in account suspension or termination.

5. Your Content

5.1 Ownership

You retain ownership of the code and projects you create on Codorex. However, by using our service, you grant us a license to host, store, and display your content as necessary to provide the service.

5.2 Content Responsibility

You are responsible for your content. We don't monitor all user content, but we reserve the right to remove content that violates these Terms or is reported as inappropriate.

5.3 AI-Generated Code

Code generated by our AI assistant is provided "as is" for educational purposes. While we strive for accuracy, AI-generated code may contain errors. You should review and test all generated code before use.

6. Subscription and Payment

6.1 Free and Premium Tiers

Codorex offers both free and premium subscription tiers. Free accounts have usage limitations. Premium accounts provide additional features and higher usage limits.

6.2 Billing

Premium subscriptions are billed monthly or annually. You agree to pay all fees associated with your subscription. Payments are non-refundable except as required by law.

6.3 Cancellation

You may cancel your premium subscription at any time. Access to premium features will continue until the end of your current billing period.

7. Intellectual Property

The Codorex platform, including all software, design, text, graphics, and the Codorex name and logo, are owned by Codorex and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse engineer any part of our service.

8. Service Availability

We strive to keep Codorex available 24/7, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted access. We may:

Perform scheduled maintenance
Make updates and improvements
Experience unexpected downtime
Modify or discontinue features

We'll try to notify you of planned maintenance, but we're not liable for any disruption to the service.

9. Disclaimers and Limitations

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR:

Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
Loss of data, profits, or business opportunities
Errors or inaccuracies in AI-generated content
Unauthorized access to your account
Service interruptions or downtime

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE PAST 12 MONTHS, OR $100, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Codorex, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from:

Your use of the service
Your violation of these Terms
Your violation of any rights of another person or entity
Your content posted on the platform

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time if you violate these Terms or engage in conduct we deem harmful to Codorex or other users. You may also delete your account at any time through your account settings.

Upon termination, you lose access to your account and content. We may retain some information as required by law or for legitimate business purposes.

12. Dispute Resolution

If you have a concern or dispute, please contact us first at hello@codorex.com. We'll work with you to resolve it informally.

Any disputes that cannot be resolved informally shall be governed by the laws of Switzerland and resolved in the courts of Zurich, Switzerland.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We'll notify you of significant changes by posting a notice on our website or sending an email. Your continued use of Codorex after changes indicates acceptance of the updated Terms.

14. General Provisions

Entire Agreement: These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Codorex.

Severability: If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, the remaining provisions remain in effect.

No Waiver: Our failure to enforce any right or provision doesn't constitute a waiver of that right or provision.

Assignment: You may not transfer your rights under these Terms. We may assign our rights to any affiliate or successor.
